Buyer Announced for Former Norfolk Tyson Plant
NORFOLK - After being under contract for nearly six-months, the new owner of the former Tyson Plant in Norfolk has been announced. Eric Renner, vice president of brokerage at World Group Commercial Real Estate in Omaha said that the building's sale to officially closed to CRS Mechanical on Monday.
Renner said that CRS Mechanical will build high-speed food processing equipment in Norfolk.
Renner: "As a part of that they'll be setting up some of their equipment on site actually to look like production runs, so that prospective clients and buyers can come in and look at the products and designing. Then each client can tailor their needs to whatever they're producing."
CRS plans to employ between 30 to 50 people in their new Norfolk facility. They will occupy the 228,000-square-foot facility which sits on 17 acres immediately.
Company officials are targeting a September 1st business opening date.
