Nebraska Chatauqua in Norfolk This Week
NORFOLK - An annual event will transport northeast Nebraskans back in time this weekend. The annual Nebraska Chatauqua is traveling to Norfolk for the first time now through Sunday. Organizers say the Chatauqua will give attendees an opportunity to examine how historical events impacted Nebraska. Jessica Chamberlain with the Norfolk Public Library is helping host the event in Norfolk. Chamberlain says each night culminates with historians portraying various historic figures.
Chamberlain: "Each evening there's a big tent program. A big tent will be set up in Warren Cook Park which is the ball fields next to the library. Each night is going to be facilitated by "Mark Twain." We're going to sort of pretend we're going back in time with Chautauqua a little bit."
Chamberlain says all the events are free and open to the public.
